The WFS of NSW was formed in 1939 and has led in the developing and fostering of sophisticated culinary and wine tastes, encouraging many generations of Australians to awaken to the pleasures of the table.
Members still meet weekly for luncheons continuing the tradition begun in “Johnnie Walkers Rhine Castle cellars in the 1930’s”.
Comment and criticism of the wine and food following the lunch remains an essential element of the gatherings.
