The following biennial events are hosted by one or more member Wine and Food Societies on behalf of the FWFSA:
Federation Convention
The FWFSA Convention includes a Friday night function, a Saturday event, the formal black-tie Saturday dinner (including wines from the FWFSA Cellar), and Sunday lunch over a weekend. The Convention will generally also include the opportunity to participate in a pre-convention tour or a post-convention tour or both. The Convention is held every second year.
Victor Gibson Weekend
Every second year a black-tie formal dinner is held in honour of the foundation President of the Federation, the late Victor Gibson AM. At the Victor Gibson Commemorative Dinner (including wines from the FWFSA Cellar), a speaker presents the Victor Gibson Oration on either wine making or the culinary art. In conjunction with the dinner, the hosting Society generally organises a Saturday event and a Sunday lunch. The Victor Gibson Weekend is held every second year.
Both events:
- Include the FWFSA AGM.
- Are open to all members of FWFSA affiliated Societies.
- Provide the opportunity for participants to experience the wine and produce of the local area of the hosting Society.
- Provide the opportunity for participants to experience wines from the Federation Cellar.
